The instructional division is a co-ed grouping of boys and girls in Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten. This division meets once a week, on Saturday, for one hour. During this hour, skills and drills are conducted for the first half and the second half consists of a game between two teams. During these games, small pop-up goals are used, teams do not play with goalies, and scores are not recorded. At this early age, we strongly encourage physical activity, improving social skills, and learning the fundamentals of the game.
Lower and Middle Divisions
The Lower Division is for boys and girls in 1st and 2nd grade. The Middle Division is for boys and girls in the 3rd and 4th grade. Time commitment will usually be 1 - 1 hour practice per week and 1 game per week. Games may be played and day of the week but primarily on the weekends.
Games are played 9v9 on a small-sided field. A referee will be at each game to enforce the rules of the game. Score are recorded at this level and champions are announced at the end of the spring season. A season runs September through June and scores/standings follow with the team after winter break.
Upper Division consists of a Girls Division and a Boys Division. At this time, both boys and girls are entered into the South Bergen Soccer League (SBSL) for the fall by age bracket (U12 and U14) and in-town Division competition in the spring. Due to the more competitive nature at this level, practices may be 1-2 times a week and games are held weekend mornings or week nights around Southern Bergen County in the fall. The SBSL keeps standings, holds playoffs, and crowns a champion at each division level. The in-town spring Division keeps standings and a Boys & Girls Division champion is announced at the end of the spring season.
